In this workshop we will aim to further develop children’s understanding of how portraits can be drawn. We will first compare a few very different ways to draw and paint a portrait, looking among others at some works by famous artists (Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Picasso…).
We will then look at a few basic principles to draw a face, and how different the final effect can be by changing some of the parameters.
Lastly, children will have a go at drawing a more in-depth self-portrait (not easy but a wonderful study!).
Sessions are for children of six to 12 years, each for a maximum of six children, lasting ninety minutes. They take place as usual at my home in Danemere Street (Putney SW15 1LT).
