At the end of June we met in Peckham Rye. I had arranged for two painters to open their studios. Betty Jaresova talked to us about how it feels to be a European artist in London post Brexit and she also presented her most recent works which is in Paul Carey Kent’s curated show this July at Arthouse1 in Bermondsey (Arthouse1). Daniel Craswhaw introduced us to his beautiful Welsh and Australian photo-realistic small and large scale paintings. We then also visited several galleries including the Copeland Gallery, where the next generation – fresh from Camberwell Art School – is exhibiting their works. Lastly, we stopped at Hannah Barry, doyenne of Peckham’s art scene at 33 years old presenting her most recent exhibition with fabulous paintings by Colden Drystone and sculptures by James Balmforth.
“The Peckham tour was amazing. Days after, it still resonates in my mind.” Yana
